The contemporary art gallery is located inside the legendary Yak-42 aircraft, a symbol of the aviation industry, which is installed on the grounds of VDNH in Moscow.

Challenge:
To attract attention, the gallery decided to turn the plane into an art object. However, both Muscovites and members of the aviation industry held the aircraft in high regard, making it crucial to create artwork that would be positively received by the public.

Solution:
We decided to combine modern «Street Art» with World War II themes, which are universally well-regarded. The composition was based on iconic wartime posters familiar to everyone from childhood.

Result:
The unveiling of the artwork garnered significant media attention, leading to numerous television reports. Municipal authorities organized special events for WWII veterans. The aircraft mural remained for more than five years until the gallery’s closure. A few years later, inspired by our project, the city government approved a series of murals on building facades across the city featuring similar themes.

Roles: management, art direction, artwork, creative direction.
